[Review: Song] Nirvana - You Know You're Right

Post by Hanohtep »

You Know You're Right Nirvana

Having spent years having ot listen to Nirvana clones, and would be post-grunge/nu-metal bands with lead singers trying to emulate Kurt Cobain's voice it is refreshing to actually hear a song I have never heard before with Kurt actually singing.

There's not a lot I can say about one song. It's really good - typical Nirvana (and that's not a bad thing) and a damned good listen too.

I don't like that you have to buy the 'Best of...' CD to actually get a copy of this song () but that's my only major gripe with it.

Hano gives it a 'two thumbs up' :bg:

Did anyone else think it was a bit Tool-esque?

It's a good song but doesn't have the energy or the catchyness of their other stuff. I guess that's just the way they were heading though.

Personally I thought it was pretty brilliant and typical of In Utero. I thought they were heading in their best direction then...

Ice, 'Tool-esque' maybe the bass riff at the start but even then it's not that much like Tool.

Considering Aenima didn't come out until '96 and Undertow sounds very little like Tool today I doubt Nirvana had Tool in mind whilst writing the song.

Saying that though, I've listened to songs and thought it sounded like something else and nobody else hears it.
