[MLG] Icebus' tracks

Post by Ice »

Radiohead - 2+2=5
Element - Trail of Embers (available at www.elementnet.co.uk)
Metallica - Sanitarium (live version from 2003 Rock AM Ring in particular)
Eels - Saturday Morning

And for those on broadband:

Jetplane Landing - Acrimony
Jetplane Landing - Revolution Rock (www.jetplanelanding.com for both tracks)
Element - And I learn (available here)

I know that's more tracks than most people with sense pick, but well, I couldn't really justify leaving any out. :D Basically a mixture of everything I've been doing/listening to over the last couple of months.

Well, I don't think I've heard any of them, apart from original Sanitarium. I shall enjoy, if I can overcome rapid line-noise and pestilent dial-up.

It just shouldn't be allowed!

Whilst looking for the live version of Welcome Home (Sanitarium) I came across the most awful cover version of it by Limp Fucking Bizkit!

Now, I don't actually mind some Limp Bizkit stuff - but this is fucking awful!

Ah the LB version from MTV:Icons... I didn't think it was that bad but it still ain't a patch on the original. I don't really know what the chances of finding the Rock Am Ring version is, so if all else fails... I'll MP3 it or you can get the original I guess.

Re: Limp cover - I thought the band did alright, but the vocals were horrid, which was to be expected, I suppose. The band's performance (not including Durst) made me think that they might actually have some sort of talent in them. The scratching etc. that they included of course reminded me that they have no taste whatsoever.

Well fortunately I actually watched a recorded version of the Metallica set at Rock AM Ring, must say it was most impressive.

Still need to acquire the Eels and Element tracks.

I apologise for my lateness.

Saturday Morning Eels

I've always loved the eels. This is the first track I've heard from Shootenanny and if the rest of the album is this good then yay!

Trail of Embers Element

Still not completely sure about this track. I didn't really like it on my first listen. Although now listening to it again it's grown on me a little bit. I'll give this one time.

Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Metallica

My favourite Metallica song, ever. Managed to see the live Rock AM Ring performance that Ice was talking about and it was a good performance. The whole set was superb - as far as I'm aware they normally don't play that much from And Justice for All... but they did there. Superb.

2+2=5 Radiohead

Already stated in my review somewhere in the forum that I love the new album. Just started reading "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore too so I've only just realised that "Hail to the Thief" was what was being shouted at Bush on the way to his inauguration. Class song.
